Miniature oval silver and silver-gilt badge in the form of an oak wreath with a gilt Tudor crown above, the cipher ‘EIIR’ (Elizabeth II Queen) centrally; the reverse plain, with loop for ribbon suspension; height 24.14mm (0.95 inch), diameter 14.16mm (0.56 inch); on original ribbon, lacking brooch bar. The Decoration was instituted on 17 November 1952 to be awarded to officers for twelve years’ commissioned service in the Army Supplementary Reserve or the Army Emergency Reserve of Officers, time in the ranks counting half and service in wartime double. The Decoration was abolished in 1967.
