Circular bronze medal with laterally-pierced ball for ribbon suspension; the face with an eagle, wings spread, perched on a sword resting on a book, circumscribed ‘EFFICIENCY • HONOR • FIDELITY’; the reverse with a five-pointed star above a ribbon, inscribed above and below ‘FOR GOOD CONDUCT’, within a wreath of oak and laurel; on original ribbon mounted for wear. The Medal was instituted on 28 June 1941 to be awarded to soldiers completing three years blameless service after that date. The criteria were amended on 31 March 1943 allowing award for one year’s wartime service. The Medal was designed by Joseph Kiselewski (1901-1986). A good example.
