Miniature circular silvered metal medal with lateral loop and ring for ribbon suspension; the face with the insignia of the Finnish Reserve Officers Association, being the Lion of Finland imposed on a white rose; the reverse plain; diameter 16.92mm (0.67 inch); on original ribbon. The Finnish Reserve Officers’ Association has its origins in a society formed at Helsinki in 1925 and the Association itself was founded on 17 May 1931 to contribute to national defence and security by maintaining and improving the military skills, leadership and combat readiness of Finnish reserve officers. It also has social and benevolent aspects. The Medal is awarded sparingly in two grades for significant contributions to the work of the Association.
