The Medal was instituted on 7 May 1965 and awarded to all surviving participants of the Great Patriotic War (World War II), one in a series of decenniel medals

Medal for the 30th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-45, military version.  Circular gilt bronze medal with eyelet for ribbon suspension; the face with a full-length female figure, her right arm raised with a sword pointing upwards in her hand, her left arm horizontal, a five-pointed star to the left above the dates ‘1945- / 1975’, laurel leaves to the left and below, fireworks beyond; the reverse inscribed in Cyrillic characters ‘XXX LET POBEDI V VELIKOI OTECHESTVENNOI VOINE  1941-1945 rr.’ (Thirty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945), a hammer and sickle below imposed on a ribbon, circumscribed above ‘UCHASTNIKU VOINI’ (Participant in War = combatant).

The Medal was instituted on 25 April 1975 and awarded to all surviving participants of the Great Patriotic War (World War II), one in a series of decenniel medals. There were two versions - one for military and one for civilians; this example is of the military version.

Jubilee Medal for 70 Years of the Armed Forces of the U.S.S.R..  Circular bronze medal with eyelet for ribbon suspension; the face with, from left to right, the heads of a Soviet airman, sailor and soldier facing left on a stippled ground, a five-pointed star above bearing a hammer and sickle, the dates ‘1918’ and ‘1988’ below, all within a laurel wreath; the reverse inscribed in Cyrillic characters ‘70 LET VOORUZHENNIH SIL SSSR’ (70 Years of the Armed Forces of the U.S.S.R.) on a stippled ground, an oak and a laurel branch below.

The Medal was instituted on 28 January 1988, the last in a series of decennial commemorative medals marking the anniversary of the founding of the Soviet Armed Forces in 1918, and awarded to all members of the Soviet Armed Forces serving on 23 February 1988.

Please note: this medal is mounted on the ribbon for the Jubilee Medal for 50 Years of the Armed Forces of the U.S.S.R. and before the 60 Years Jubilee Medal which suggests that there was originally a 50 Years Medal mounted in this place but that it was lost and incorrectly replaced with the current medal.

Jubilee Medal for 60 Years of the Armed Forces of the U.S.S.R..  Circular bronze medal with eyelet for ribbon suspension; the face with a helmeted Soviet soldier lower left, facing right holding a rifle, three rockets pointing skyward beyond, two military jet aeroplanes above right, a surfaced submarine at sea lower right, dated ‘1918 1978’; the reverse with a stippled five-pointed star centrally imposed on a crossed sabre and rifle and bearing a hammer and plough, circumscribed in Cyrillic characters ‘SHESTDESIT LET * VOORUZHENNIH SIL SSSR’ (Sixty Years of the Armed Forces of the U.S.S.R.).

The Medal was instituted on 28 January 1978, one in a series of decennial commemorative medals marking the anniversary of the founding of the Soviet Armed Forces in 1918, and awarded to all members of the Soviet Armed Forces serving on 23 February 1978.

The Group is on original age-toned ribbons and mounted for wear on a set of four pentagonal hangers with a pin to the reverse.
