Circular gilt metal medal with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the head and shoulders portrait of a male worker facing left, an industrial landscape beyond, circumscribed above ‘PER TRIMERI CIVILE’ (for civil bravery); the reverse plain; loss of gilding (not evident in illustrations) to the eyebrow and cheek of the male figure; on original pentagonal hanger and ribbon with upright pin for wear. The medal was instituted on 30 April 1956 as the Medal for Labour Bravery; it was amended on 18 January 1965 to become the Medal for Civil Bravery. It was awarded to recognise acts of bravery by civilians in hostile conditions, such as fire, flood and storm in saving life and property. This example is of the second version, after 1965, and third variant (upright pin for wear). The medal was definitively suppressed in 1996. A rare medal.
