White metal medal in the form of a lyre imposed on a laurel wreath, with integral bar for ribbon suspension; the face inscribed ‘CONFEDERATION MUSICALE DE FRANCE’; the reverse plain with maker’s mark ‘G MORET PARIS’ and copyright mark; on original ribbon mounted for wear in the French style. The Confédération Musicale de France was established in 1906 and today is the largest musical association in France with more than 6,000 music schools and societies affiliated through 24 regional federations, each with federations at department level, making for an organisation that is close and responsive to its members, despite its size. Its objectives are to promote and develop the playing of music, regardless of age or background of the player, and to promote a broad range of musical forms to a wide public. The silver medal is awarded for thirty years of activity in the Confederation.
