Circular copper medal with eyelet for ribbon suspension; the face with the head and shoulders portrait of Josef Stalin in Marshal’s uniform facing left, circumscribed above in Cyrillic characters ‘NASHE DELO PRRAVOE’ (Our cause is just) and below in Cyrillic characters  ‘MÏ POBEDILI’ (We have been victorious); the reverse inscribed in Cyrillic characters ‘V VEDIKOI / OTECHESTVENNOI / VOINE / 1941-1945 r. r.’ (The Great Patriotic War, 1941-1945), circumscribed above in Cyrillic characters ‘ZA DOBLESTNII TRUD’ (for Valiant Labour), a five-pointed star below; on original ribbon and pentagonal hanger mounted for wear. 

The Medal was instituted on 6 June 1945 to be awarded to workers who served in Soviet industry for at least one year between during June 1941 and May 1945.  

The qualifying period was reduced to six months for veterans suffering war disability who returned to work, graduates of professional schools and retirees who returned to work.
