Miniature ten-pointed chiselled silver star, with graduated chiselled rays between the arms, on three-looped chiselled silver bow suspension; the face with a circular central green enamel medallion bearing the tughra of Muhammad V an-Nasir in silver Arabic characters within a faceted silver border; the reverse plain; diameter 17.00mm (0.67 inch); on replaced correct ribbon. The Order, whose name means ‘The Order of Victory’, was instituted in 1837 by Ahmad I ibn Mustafa, Bey of Tunis and reformed in 1857 by his successor Muhammad II ibn al-Husayn. It was effectively the National Order of Tunis from its foundation until its suppression after independence in 1957. This good example is from the reign of Muhammad V an-Nasir (1855-1922) who was Bey of Tunis from 11 May 1906 until 10 July 1922.
