Original bronze rectangular ribbon clasp with rounded scrolled ends; the face stippled with a central plain plaque inscribed ‘KRIJG TE LAND 1940-1945’ (Land War 1940-1945); the reverse with pins for ribbon attachment; length 34.48mm (1.36 inches).
The clasp was awarded for a minimum of six months’ service in an active army unit. Many were awarded to members of the Dutch Resistance who joined Allied forces in 1944 after the liberation of the Netherlands and fought on into Germany.
