Silver gilt six-pointed rayed star; the face with the arms of the Mongolian People’s Republic in polychrome enamels imposed on six gilt and white enamel loops symbolizing happiness and good fortune, all on a pale blue circular medallion decorated with gilt rays; the reverse plain, numbered ‘24242’ and with pin for wear; a slight chip to the pale blue enamel within the upper left white enamel loop; diameter 47.58mm (1.87 inches); weight 57.95 grams (2.04 oz). The Order was instituted in 1937 (some sources state 1936) in one class and may be awarded for merit to both military and civilians. Five main versions are known, of which this is the fourth, introduced in 1970 and replaced in 2003. A nice example.
