Circular white metal medal with eyelet for ribbon suspension; the face with the half-length figures of two North Korean soldiers advancing to the left, the nearer figure with an automatic weapon, the further with a North Korean flag, a T34 tank beyond, two warplanes above; the reverse with the Korean characters for ‘Commemorative Medal for the Fatherland Liberation War’, dated 1950_1953 below, a small five-pointed star above; a few age oxidisation marks; on original ribbon and pentagonal hanger mounted for wear. The Medal was instituted on 13 August 1953 and awarded to both military and civilians who had participated in the Korean War. The Medal is not often found.
