Circular silver medal with lateral cylinder and ring for ribbon suspension; the face with the arms of Afghanistan, inscribed above ‘Sadaqat’ (Loyalty) in Arabic script within a circular rayed border; the reverse inscribed ‘Amir Habibullah, the light of the Nation and of Religion’ and dated ‘1320’ (AD 1903/1904) all in Arabic script within a circular rayed border; on replaced ribbon in the national colours of Afghanistan. The medal was instituted in 1903 to reward faithful service soon after his accession to the Afghan throne by Amir Habibullah Khan (1872-1919). A rare early medal.
