Large circular silver medal with laterally-pierced ball suspension with indistinct silver hallmark (tête de sanglier?) and ring for ribbon suspension; the face with the arms of the town of Roye, oak leaves to the left, laurel leaves to the right, circumscribed above ‘VILLE DE ROYE (SOMME)’; the reverse with a circular central medallion with a fire-fighting scene within a beaded border, circumscribed ‘CONCOURS DU 26 MAI 1895’; diameter 38.89mm (1.53 inches), weight 16.52 grams (0.58 oz); lacking ribbon. Roye is a small town in the Department of the Somme in northern France.
