Circular silver medal with fixed crown suspension; the face inscribed ‘FÜR TREUE UND VERDIENST’ (for Loyalty and Merit) within an oak wreath; the reverse with the small arms of Schaumburg-Lippe centrally, being a five-petalled Lippian rose on a ‘nesselblatt’ (nettle-leaf); on replaced correct ribbon. The medal was originally instituted on 25 October 1869 and amended in 1885, 1890 and 1893. In 1905, the present example was introduced to reward service to the reigning Prince and the Princely House. It was superseded in 1914. Its short life of just nine years and the small population of the Principality (44,992 in 1905) make it rare. A very good example.
