Circular bronze medal with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with an escutcheon bearing the arms of Croatia (left), Dalmatia (right) and Slavonia (below) crowned by the Hungarian Crown of St Stephen, foliate decoration to either side, circumscribed ‘JUBILARNA GOSPODARSKO ŠUMARSKA IZLOŽBA U ZAGREBU 1891’ (Jubilee Husbandry Economics Exhibition at Zagreb, 1891); the reverse with a figure seated on a plough, a scythe in his left hand, a cow and sheep to the left, a horse beyond, a tree in the background, circumscribed ‘USPOMENA NA 50. GODIŠNJICU HRV. SLAV. GOSPOD. DRUŽTVA 1891’ (In Commemoration of 50th Anniversary of the Croatian and Slavonian Husbandry Association) signed ‘RADKOV’; diameter 27mm (1 1/16 inches); ribbon lacking. The medal was issued in 1891 on the occasion of the second great Zagreb exhibition, hosted by the Croatian and Slavonic Husbandry Society to mark its fiftieth anniversary. The exhibition was of great economic, cultural and political significance, not least in that it linked the Croatian provinces of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
