Miniature circular gilt bronze medal with loop and ring for ribbon suspension; the face with the Belgian Congo five-pointed star with ball-tipped finials, a circular central medallion with the Belgian lion rampant, on a bed of laurel leaves; the reverse identical; diameter 13.16mm (0.52 inch);without ribbon.
The medal was instituted on 20 June 1935 for those serving in the Belgian Congo on 4 August 1914 who remained at, or returned to, their civilian posting there. The medal is not often found, especially in miniature.
