Miniature circular cupro-nickel medal with scroll and laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with the emblem of the Royal Oman Police; the reverse inscribed ‘for Competence’ in Arabic script within a palm wreath; diameter 18.12mm (0.71 inch); on original ribbon. The Medal was instituted in 1975 to be awarded to the Royal Oman Police and Prison and Fire Services for ‘outstanding meritorious service and service of an exceptionally high standard that has been of benefit to the Service and is an example to subordinates’.
