Miniature circular cupro-nickel medal on claw and ornate scrolled suspension bar; the face with the then emblem of the Pakistan Armed Forces within a laurel wreath; the reverse with the cipher of King George VI centrally, circumscribed ‘GEORGIUS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX’ (George VI by the Grace of God King of Great Britain); diameter 18.15mm (0.71 inch); on original ribbon.
The Medal dates from after the independence of Pakistan on 14 August 1947 when George VI ceased to be Emperor of India and became King of Pakistan which had Dominion status and before his death on 6 February 1952.
