Miniature blue enamel cross crosslet with rays between the arms, on crossed swords suspension; the face with a circular central red enamel medallion bearing an eagle encircled by a green enamel wreath; the reverse with a central circular red enamel medallion bearing the crowned gilt cipher of King Carol I encircled by a green enamel wreath; height overall 20.66mm (0.81 inch), width 16mm (0.63 inch); we have not attempted to clean this miniature; on probably replaced correct ribbon.
The Order was instituted on 10 May 1877 to reward outstanding service to the state and is becoming hard to find.
