Miniature bronze slip-on clasp; the face inscribed ‘SOISSONS’, a five-pointed star to either side; the reverse plain; width 22.08mm (0.87 inch). The clasp was unofficial, produced as a result of private commercial initiative in relation to the Battle of Soissons, also known as the Battle of Soissonnais and of the Ourcq, that took place between 18 July to 22 July 1918. Participation was officially recognised by the award of the ‘Aisne-Marne’ clasp.
