Miniature bronze medal with laterally-pierced ball and ring for ribbon suspension; the face with the head and shoulders portrait of President Idi Amin Dada facing left, circumscribed ‘POLICE AND FIRE BRIGADE LONG SERVICE’; the reverse with the badge of the Uganda Police centrally, being a crested crane within a stylised oval laurel wreath, a ribbon below inscribed ‘UGANDA POLICE’; diameter 18.46mm (0.73 inch); without ribbon. This version of the Medal was instituted by President Idi Amin Dada in 1972 and was suppressed after his fall on 11 April 1979.
