Miniature cupro-nickel medal on fixed suspension bar with ‘١٩٧٦-١٩٧١’ (1971-1976) clasp; the face with the head of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, then Emir of Dubai, facing right within an Arabic circumscription; the reverse with a falcon with wings displayed centrally, a ribbon below inscribed in Arabic, and Arabic circumscription above; diameter 18.57mm (0.73 inch); on original ribbon. The Medal was instituted following the creation and independence of the United Arab Emirates on 2 December 1971 and awarded for service in the Dubai military. It was discontinued in 1976 following the incorporation of the Dubai forces into the Federal Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates. The medal is rare.
