Miniature gilt-edged white enamel circular medal on scroll and laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with a five-pointed red enamel star with a circular central gilt medallion bearing a falcon with wings displayed within a white enamel ring with an Arabic inscription in gilt letters, a rectangular gilt panel between each of the points bearing a falcon with wings displayed; the reverse dated β١٩٦٦/٢/٢٠βand β١٩٧٦/٥/٦β (10 February 1966 and 6 May 1976) on a concentric wavy ground with an Arabic circumscription; diameter 18.45mm (0.72 inch); on original ribbon.. The Medal was instituted in 1966 following the formation of the Abu Dhabi Defence Force under the guidance of officers from the Trucial Oman Scouts to be awarded for loyal service. It was discontinued following the incorporation of the Abu Dhabi Defence Force into the Federal Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates in 1976.
