Miniature circular gilt medal with scroll and fixed laurel-decorated ribbon suspension bar; the face with a circular central green enamel medallion with a gilt map of Bahrain within a yellow enamel ring, an Arabic inscription below, palm leaves to either side; the reverse with the emblem of the Bahrain Defence Force within an Arabic circumscription; diameter 18.02mm (0.71 inch); on original ribbon. The Medal was instituted in 1991 in three classes by Sheikh Isa ibn Salman Al Khalifa, Emir of Bahrain, to be awarded for distinguished service in the military forces of Bahrain.
