Miniature eight-pointed silver star, the arms decorated with palm fronds, with loop to the reverse of the upper point for ribbon suspension; the face with an eight-pointed red enamel star imposed, the points midway between the points of the silver star and bearing a circular central silver medallion bearing the head of Sheikh Isa bin Salman al-Khalifa, Emir of Bahrain 1961 to 1999, facing left within a white enamel ring inscribed in silver Arabic characters ‘God, Nation, Emir, Bahrain’; the reverse plain stippled silver, maker’s mark of Spink & Son Ltd of London and silver hallmarks for London 1997; diameter 19.58mm (0.77 inch); without ribbon. The Order was instituted by Emir Isa bin Salman al-Khalifa in 1976 in five classes and is awarded for meritorious military, diplomatic or civil service to Bahrain.
