Miniature circular cupro-nickel medal with eyelet and ribbon suspension bar; the face with the arms of the Republic of Namibia centrally, radiant suns to either side, circumscribed ‘NAMIBIA INDEPENDENCE’ above and dated ’21 MARCH 1990’ below; the reverse with a radiant rising sun to the right imposed on a map of Namibia, all within a laurel wreath; diameter 16.27mm (0.64 inch); on a correct paper representation of the ribbon. The Medal was instituted on 16 March 1995 to mark the independence of Namibia on 21 March 1990.
