Miniature decagonal (ten-sided) bronze medal on fixed ribbon bar decorated with zigzag pattern; the face with the Roman numeral ‘X’ (=10) centrally within a circular laurel wreath, circumscribed ‘ZIMBABWE’ above and ‘FOR SERVICE’ below; the reverse with a circular wreath of flame lilies; diameter 16.28mm (0.64 inch); on original ribbon (the ribbon is reversed - the blue stripe should be to the left and the red to the right). The Medal was instituted in October 1980 to be awarded for ten years’ military service.
