Miniature circular cupro-nickel medal with scroll and fixed ribbon bar suspension; the face with the full-face portrait of King Sobhuza II centrally, dated ‘1921’ and ‘1981’ to left and right respectively, circumscribed ‘DIAMOND JUBILEE HIS MAJESTY KING SOBHUZA II’; the reverse inscribed ‘HIS MAJESTY / SOBHUZA II / DIAMOND JUBILEE / 1921-1981 / SIBHIMBI SENKHOSI’ (Sibhimbi SeNkhosi = the King's major event), arabesques above and below; diameter 18.99 mm (0.75 inch); on original ribbon. The Medal was instituted to mark the Diamond Jubilee of King Sobhusa II on 22 December 1981. It is rare.
