Miniature silvered metal medal on scroll and ribbon bar suspension with ‘REGULAR ARMY’ clasp; the face with the head of President Kamuzu Banda facing right circumscribed with his name; the reverse with an African lion passant above the Malawian radiant rising sun, circumscribed ‘FOR LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT’; diameter 18.41mm (0.72 inch); on original ribbon. The Medal was instituted on 20 May 1968 to be awarded for long service and good conduct and was suppressed in 1993 when President Banda was deposed. The Medal is not often found.
