Miniature oval silver-gilt and enamel insignia in the form of the emblem of the Academia Mexicana de Cirugía, being an oval rayed red enamel medallion bearing an open hand, fingers upwards and bearing an all-seeing eye within a gilt ring inscribed ‘ACADEMIA MEXICANA DE CIRUGÍA’ within a green enamel laurel wreath, a gilt hinged suspension above in the form of the Mexican eagle; the reverse plain; width 12.56mm (0.49 inch); on a scrap of original ribbon. The Academy was founded in 1933 and is a prestigious not-for-profit association that brings together leading surgeons and medical professionals.
