Miniature cupro-nickel oval medal with three concentric rays round the upper edge and fan and fixed suspension ring; the face with the arms of the Republic of Zambia centrally; the reverse inscribed ‘FOR / LONG / SERVICE / AND / GOOD / CONDUCT’; width 16.92mm (0.67 inch); without ribbon. The Medal was instituted on 23 October 1965 to mark the first anniversary of Zambian independence to be awarded to members of the Zambian military forces for long service and good conduct. The Medal is rarely found.
