Miniature silver-gilt six-pointed star, the arms each composed of seven chiselled rays, on laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with the polychrome arms of the Republic of Cuba imposed on crossed fouled white enamel naval anchors; the reverse plain age-toned silver gilt with scratches centrally; diameter 14.65mm (0.58 inch); without ribbon. The Order was instituted on 27 February 1912 to be awarded for outstanding naval merit.
