Miniature blackened oxidised bronze cross moline with eyelet and loop for ribbon suspension; the face with an imposed silvered cross and centrally the crowned lion of Finland above the word ‘SUMMA’; the reverse plain with slight glue residue centrally; diameter 17.43mm (0.68 inch); on original ribbon.
The Cross was instituted in 1940 and was awarded to members of the Finnish forces who fought in the Winter War against invading Soviet forces in the Suokanta, Summankylä, Lähde and Merkki sectors between 30 November 1939 and 14 February 1940.
