The Medal was created by the right-wing Lapua Movement to commemorate the ‘Peasants’ March’ held on 7 July 1930. Some twelve thousand people gathered at Lapua and travelled to Helsinki where they were received in Senate Square by President Relander, Prime Minister Svinhufvud and General Mannerheim and were addressed by the Lapua Movement leader Vihtori Kosola.
