Miniature silvered tombac cross pattée with eyelet and loop for ribbon suspension; the face enamelled black with the silvered insignia of the 17th Division imposed centrally, the reverse plain; diameter 17.31mm (0.68 inch); on original ribbon with silvered metal ‘HANGO’ clasp.
The Cross was awarded to members of the 17th Division for participation in the Continuation War of 25 June 1941 to 19 September 1944.
The 17th Division was recruited from the Karjaa and Vaasai military districts.
The Hango (Swedish = Hanko in Finnish) clasp was awarded for participation in the action around the southern port of that name in the summer of 1941.
