Miniature bronze cross pattée with concave ends to the arms, with ball-tipped finials and five graduated rays between the arms, with loop and crossed swords suspension; the face with a circular central medallion bearing the letters ‘PR’ (Rzeczpospolita Polska = Republic of Poland) within a circular stylised laurel wreath; the reverse plain; diameter 14.1mm (0.5 inch); on original ribbon.
The Cross was instituted on 23 June 1923 to be awarded for deeds of bravery and valour during time of war not connected with direct combat and for merit demonstrated in perilous circumstances.
This example dates from the period before 1945.
