Circular zinc alloy medal with eyelet for ribbon suspension; the face with an eagle perched on a fasces, its left wing spread over a map of Greece, a rope knot to the right, inscribed ‘ROMA’ and ‘DOMA’ (Rome Conquered) above and below respectively, signed ‘F. GIAN / NONE’ lower right; the reverse with a view of the Parthenon, Athens above a fasces, dated above ‘- 1941 – A. XIX –’ (1941 being the 19th year of the Fascist era) and inscribed below ‘OCCUPAZIONE / ITALIANA / DELLA / GRECIA’; on an old correct ribbon. The Medal was created in 1941 to be awarded for participation in the Italian conquest of Greece and versions were produced by both Giannone and Affer.
