Circular bronze medal with ornate scrolling and eyelet for ribbon suspension; the face with the head of Benito Mussolini facing left, circumscribed ‘CREDERE * OBBEDIRE * COMBATTERE’ (Believe, Obey, Fight - motto of the National Fascist Party); the reverse plain with a palm wreath border; a small oxidisation spot to the lower left of the face; diameter 21.88mm (0.86inch). The National Fascist Party was founded in Rome by Benito Mussolini on 9 November 1921, successor to the Fasci di Combattimento created by Mussolini in Milan on 23 March 1919. The Party ruled Italy from 1922 until its dissolution on 27 July 1943 following the Allied invasion of Italy.
