Miniature gilt bronze and green enamel cross patteé with gilt laurel wreath between the arms, on integral gilt Mexican eagle suspension; the face with a circular central green enamel medallion bearing the gilt enamel figure ‘20’ within a white enamel ring inscribed in gilt letters ‘PERSEVERANCIA – 3A CLASE’; the reverse plain gilt; diameter 21.39mm (0.84 inch); on original shortened ribbon with laurel-decorated pasador top bar. The decoration was instituted on 11 March 1926 to reward 20 years’ distinguished service in the Mexican army. (Ref. Grove D520).
