Miniature bronze cross pattée with loop for suspension; the face inscribed ‘TREU / DEUTSCHLAND’ and dated ‘1915’ on a blackened ground; the reverse plain; diameter 14.57mm (0.57 inch); without ribbon.
The Cross reflects that of the Teutonic Knights in the late Middle Ages which was also the emblem of Frederick the Great and used most notably in the Prussian Iron Cross.
