Miniature circular silver medal with claw and ornate scroll ribbon bar with ‘MALABAR 1921-22’ clasp; the face with the crowned head and shoulders portrait of King George V facing left in coronation robes, circumscribed ‘GEORGIUS V KAISAR.I.HIND’ (George V Emperor of India); the reverse with a view of Jamrud Fort and the entrance to the Khyber Pass, inscribed ‘INDIA’ on a plaque below with oak and laurel branches to either side; diameter 17.9mm (0.7 inch); age-toned; on replaced correct ribbon.
The Medal was instituted on 1 January 1909 for service in campaigns on India’s borders.
The ‘Malabar 1921-22’ clasp was awarded awarded under Army Order 50 of 1924 for service in the suppression of the Moplah Rebellion in Malabar between 20 August 1921 and 25 February 1922.
