Circular bronze medal with eyelet for suspension; the face with the arms of the 4th Mountain Artillery Regiment centrally within a beaded border; the reverse with an eagle, wings outstretched centrally, perched on a cannonball, horn and crossed cannon within a beaded border, circumscribed with the Regiment’s motto ‘SU TUTTE L'ERTE E SOPRA OGNI CIMA’ (on the entire height and above every peak); diameter 28.2mm (1.1 inch).
The 4th Mountain Artillery Regiment was constituted in 1934 and specialised in mountain warfare. It was destroyed in the Soviet Union in January 1943.
