Circular gilt bronze medal with suspension in the form of a dragon; the face with a plaque inscribed ‘INDOCHINE’ with a seven-headed serpent below and a tricephalous elephant above, the edge inscribed ‘REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE’, signed below ‘L.M.’ and ‘J.C.’; the reverse with a wreath of oak and laurel circumscribed ‘CORPS EXPEDITIONNAIRE FRANÇAIS D’EXTREME-ORIENT’, a five-pointed star at the base above Paris Mint bronze cornucopia assay marks; on original ribbon.

The Medal was created on 1 August 1953 and awarded to soldiers who served for more than 3 months in a regular formation of the French Expeditionary Corps in Indochina between 16 August 1945 and 27 July 1954.
