Circular silver-gilt medal with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the head of King Wilhelm II of Württemberg facing right, circumscribed ‘WILHELM II KOENIG VON WUERTTEMBERG’, signed ‘K SCHWENZER’ (for Karl Schwenzer, 1843-1904, medallist and engraver at the Royal Wurttemberg Mint, Stuttgart); a five petalled floret at the base; the reverse with a representation of the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Friedrich centrally within a ring inscribed ‘DEM VERDIENSTE’ (Merit) above, laurel leaves below; on a replaced correct ribbon.

The Medal was instituted on 11 August 1892 by King Wilhelm II to be awarded for military and civil merit towards the King, the Royal House and the State.
