Miniature oval silver and silver-gilt award in the form of an oak wreath with the cipher of Queen Elizabeth II centrally, a crown above; the reverse plain; height 24.44mm (0.96 inch), width 14.28mm (0.56 inch); on original ribbon with silver ‘ARMY EMERGENCY RESERVE’ bar. The Decoration was instituted on 17 November 1952 to be awarded for 12 years’ commissioned service in the Army Emergency Reserve. The Decoration was abolished in 1967 with the formation of the Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve. The Decoration is not often found, especially in miniature form.
