Circular silver medal with laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with the head of Emperor Franz Joseph I facing left, signed ‘P. FÄNNER’ on the base of the neck, circumscribed ‘FRANC. IOS. I. D. G. IMP. AVST. REX BOH. ETC. REX AP. HVNG.’ (Franz Joseph I, by the Grace of God Emperor of Austria, King of Bohemia etc. Apostolic King of Hungary and dated ‘1830 18 VIII 1930’; the reverse with the lesser arms of Austria-Hungary, inscribed ‘SIGNUM MEMORIAE’ (Token of Remembrance) at the base; on probably original trifold ribbon (there seems to be no definitive source to confirm the ribbon is correct). The Medal was issued in 1930 to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Emperor Franz Joseph I on 18 August 1830. The medal is not often found.
