Circular bronze medal with eyelet for ribbon suspension; the face with a full-length allegorical figure of Victory facing right, staff in hand, bestriding the Parthenon, inscribed ‘VINCERE’ to the right, dated ‘1940 41 XIX’ below’ monogram ‘FML’ lower left (for F.M. Lorioli of Milan), and signed ‘AFFER’ lower right (for the Italian medallist Costantino Affer, 1906-1987); the reverse with an eagle, wings spread, the arms of Savoy on its breast, upper left above a map of the Adriatic, a sword with the hilt inscribed ‘FERT’ plunged into Greece, inscribed to the right ‘NOI / SPEZZEREMO / LE RENI / ALLA GRECIA’; small age spots; on replaced correct ribbon.

The Medal was created in 1941 to be awarded for participation in the Italian conquest of Greece and versions were produced by both Affer and Giannone.  (Casolari XIX-23).
