Miniature circular silver medal with integral crown suspension; the face with the head and shoulders portraits of King Edward VII and, beyond, Queen Alexandra, both facing right, circumscribed ‘KING EDWARD VII AND QUEEN ALEXANDRA’; the reverse with the cipher of King Edward VII within a ring inscribed ‘TO COMMEMORATE THE CORONATION’ and dated ‘1902’, ‘925’ silver purity mark below the cipher; diameter 17.11mm (0.67 inch); on the ribbon for the 1911 coronation medal. This is an unofficial version of the medal issued to mark the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra on 9 August 1902. An interesting period miniature.
