Gilt bronze Greek cross with crossed standards between the arms, with integral loop for ribbon suspension; the face with a circular central medallion bearing the head and shoulders portraits of King Alexander I Karadordevic (right) and Marshal Louis Franchet d’Esperey (left) in uniform facing left; the reverse inscribed ‘Officer’s Association of Invalids of War, Sick and Disabled, a Grateful Yugoslavia’ in Cyrillic characters; on original trifold ribbon.

The Cross was created by the Association of the War-Disabled Officers of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929 and its wear with uniform was approved by the Chancery of Royal Orders by K.O. No. 5710 on 25 October 1937.

Marshal Louis Franchet d’Esperey (1856-1942) commanded Allied Forces at Salonika late in World War I.  Following the defeat of Serbia in 1915 and the retreat of Serb forces through Albania to the safety of Corfu, many of them moved on to Salonika from where in 1918 they broke out, knocking Bulgaria out of the war and advancing through occupied Serbia to the Danube.

The Cross is very rare.
