STRAORD. DI GOVERNO PER IL FRIULI 1976’ (Extraordinary Commission of the Governor of Fruili 1976); diameter 17.2mm (0.68 inch); on original ribbon.
The medal was created on 24 January 1977 by the Extraordinary Commission’s ordinance 179 to recognise those who worked from May until September 1976 in the aftermath of the earthquake of 6 May.
On 15 June 1982 the Ministry of Defence authorised military recipients of the award to wear it with uniform.
